Homemade Distilled Water

I’ve been fascinated with the fact that you can take plain tap or hose water and distill it into delicious drinking water. When we are out boon-docking and need water we can even use lake water! Yes it really can be turned it into fresh, good tasting drinking water.

When I worked on a yacht we used to make water from sea water using similar technology. Desalinization, where we took sea water and ran it through our onboard plant, like of a bigger version of this distiller. And took out salt and heavy minerals and germs. The water was delicious and most of the guests never knew that their coffee was made from seawater! True Story.

There are a few distillers out there on the market but I think I’m going to go with this one for the Travel trailer. Its small and lightweight and it makes a gallon of fresh water a day (in 6 hours actually) I’ll be writing a review for this model soon. I’ll post the update here.

I’m pretty sure this little distiller is going to come in very handy as we try to make ourselves as very self sufficient as we possibly can.

Enjoy Life!
